Tomball, By Us

A destination unlike anything else in the guide — Texas Monthly ranked it the 6th best barbecue joint in the world, and it's also a bean-to-bar chocolate maker with factory tours, all inside a restored historic Tomball home. The Friday-only Flintstone-sized beef ribs and the chile relleno sausage are standouts.

Good to KnowOpen for lunch Tuesday–Saturday; lines form on the porch before the doors open.

Good to KnowExpect a line at peak hours, but it moves quickly.

A Tomball institution since 1950, still run in the same down-home spirit — chicken fried steak (in two sizes), pot roast, smothered chicken, and homemade banana pudding.

A downtown favorite that grew from a 2013 food truck into a full restaurant in 2017 — loaded baked potatoes (BBQ chopped beef, Frito pie, fajita nacho, Southern fried chicken), fresh-cut salads, and ice-cold Texas tea on a nostalgic patio.

Best baked potatoes we have ever had.

Baja-style Mexican food and hand-crafted margaritas with roots going back 46+ years — the fish tacos, brisket enchiladas, and fresh-made salsa keep locals coming back to a cozy patio with live guitar music.

This is a hidden gem, we love the food, service, and atmosphere.

Homemade Russian cuisine and Siberian crepes from a chef who grew up cooking in Siberia — beef stroganoff, pelmeni, and around a hundred sweet and savory crepe combinations, in a small, quaint downtown spot.

A locally owned, more authentic take on Mexican food than standard Tex-Mex, inspired by Mexico City and Puebla traditions — the street tacos, enmoladas, and chilaquiles are regularly singled out in reviews.

Southern and Texas comfort food with craft cocktails and artisan beer — burgers, fresh seafood, and a well-known wedge salad, served across a lively bar area and a dog-friendly outdoor patio.

Tex-Mex, fajitas, and margaritas in a welcoming, cozy setting — the Fajita Combo Bowl is the most recommended thing on the menu.

Wood-fired pizza, fresh salads, and shareable appetizers inside a renovated gas station downtown — the Green Chile Smoked Brisket Pizza is a standout, and the crab and shrimp fondue gets called out often.

Good to KnowPopular during happy hour and on weekends — reservations are recommended.
